BO Chargeman / Electrical Engineer

Job Scope:Manages and maintains all electrical systems within the data centre to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical IT infrastructure. Operates and maintains high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) switchgear, transformers, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs), and backup power systems. Conducts electrical load monitoring and balancing across distribution networks. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, routine testing, and emergency repairs on electrical equipment. Executes electrical isolation procedures and switching operations following safe work practices. Investigates electrical faults, analyzes power quality issues, and implements corrective measures. Maintains electrical safety standards and ensures compliance with local electrical regulations. Updates electrical drawings, maintenance records, and incident reports. Participates in commissioning of new electrical installations and system upgrades. Conducts thermographic surveys and power quality assessments. Responds to emergency situations and electrical failures affecting critical infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• BO (High Voltage) Chargeman license or equivalent certification as required by local regulations
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in data centres or critical facilities
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, UPS, generators, and power distribution
• Proficiency in electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools
• Understanding of electrical safety codes, standards, and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency callouts
