Job Description

  1. Implement and enforce data governance best practices and policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and privacy
  2. Assist in defining and maintaining business-friendly data definitions across domains to support consistent understanding and usage
  3. Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data models align with data and analytics needs
  4. Facilitate the adoption of Atlan among teams to streamline data cataloging, data lineage, metadata management, and cross-functional collaboration
  5. Work closely with business leaders to identify data governance needs and implement solutions that meet regulatory and organizational standards
  6. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and data professionals in best practices for data management and governance
  7. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiencies in data management workflows
  8. Manage data controls and audit processes in collaboration with data engineering and technical operations team
  9. Proactively address data-related challenges, proposing solutions that align with organizational needs
  10. Identify and resolve data quality issues

Job Skills

  1. Proven expertise in data governance frameworks, data cataloging, data controls, and metadata management.
  2. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  3. Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar data management platforms (e.g., Alation, Collibra).
  4. Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and best practices in data governance.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  1. Strong, demonstrable knowledge of BI industry standards, Master Data Management, Data Lineage and Data Engineering

Technical Skills

  1. Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar data management platforms (e.g., Alation, Collibra).
  2. Agile methodologies, JIRA, Confluence
  3. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Google Cloud)
  4. Proficient in querying and manipulating data using SQL, Python, Excel and cloud-native tools
  5. Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Looker and Tableau
  6. Experience with predictive analytics and machine learning is a plus

This role is based in our Columbus, OH office. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is $120,000 per year.
