General Labourer
Location: 1351 Bloomington Road, Richmond Hill, Ontario
Position Type: Contract Full-Time (April to December)
Reporting To: Facilities Manager
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm with alternating Saturdays from 7:00am-3:00pm
Compensation: $19.50 per hour

The General Labourer supports daily yard and processing operations by assisting with material sorting, equipment cleaning, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The successful candidate will follow Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and contribute to efficient site operations through teamwork and flexibility.

Responsibilities:
In the position of General Labourer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform general yard clean-up and housekeeping duties.
• Sort incoming wood loads as required.
• Record windrow temperatures accurately and consistently.
• Wash equipment and assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Receive training in the operation of various pieces of equipment as required.
• Provide backup support for processing operations when needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competencies & Qualifications:
• Previous experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Valid G Class Driver’s Licence.
• Team-oriented with demonstrated safe working habits.
• Ability to work days, afternoons, weekends, and flexible shifts based on operational needs.
