BI combines analyst expertise with interactive data, proprietary models and emerging technologies, including AI, to deliver faster, deeper and more differentiated research. Our research and datasets are delivered through curated Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks, with underlying data typically one click away, drawing on proprietary Bloomberg sources and 600+ data contributors.

What’s in it for you:

You will be the lead Bloomberg Intelligence FX strategist covering the Middle East, with primary responsibility for MENA and GCC currencies and an important role in expanding BI’s broader emerging-market and global foreign-exchange research.

Your coverage will include the major GCC currencies — including the Saudi riyal, UAE dirham and Qatari riyal — with a focus on currency regimes, cross-regional investment flows, local market dynamics and the macroeconomic forces shaping FX markets. You will also monitor currencies and regimes across the broader region, including the Kuwaiti dinar, Moroccan dirham, Bahraini dinar and Omani rial.

Beyond your regional mandate, you will contribute to BI’s global quantitative FX research, including the development of cross-market spot FX models and FX-options analytics spanning G10 and emerging markets. The role combines deep regional expertise with quantitative analysis, data and modeling to produce differentiated, investment-relevant perspectives for Bloomberg’s global client base.

We’ll trust you to:

• Lead BI’s research coverage of MENA and GCC foreign-exchange markets, providing timely analysis of the macroeconomic, policy, market and capital-flow developments affecting currencies in the region.
• Develop differentiated perspectives on GCC currency regimes, including pegs and basket-based frameworks, and monitor the factors that could affect their sustainability and market implications.
• Analyze cross-regional investment flows, hedge-fund positioning, local demand and other market dynamics influencing Middle Eastern currencies.
• Develop and maintain quantitative models, datasets and analytical tools to identify key FX drivers, relative-value opportunities and market trends.
• Contribute to cross-market spot FX models and FX-options analytics supporting BI’s G10 and global emerging-market research.
• Produce a combination of repeatable flagship research and timely analysis responding to major market, economic and policy developments.
• Collaborate with BI strategists and analysts globally to connect regional FX developments with broader emerging-market and global macro themes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors, traders and other market participants to deepen BI’s understanding of market dynamics and expand the reach of our FX research.
• Use Bloomberg data, analytics and emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to improve research efficiency and develop new approaches to quantitative and data-driven FX analysis.

You need to have:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience analyzing, researching and/or trading foreign exchange.
• Strong knowledge of Emerging Markets currencies and the macroeconomic, policy and market factors that drive foreign-exchange markets.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative analysis and translate complex market data into differentiated, investment-relevant conclusions.
• Strong understanding of global and emerging-market macroeconomics and foreign-exchange markets.
• Experience working with financial and economic datasets and developing analytical models.
• Exceptional research, writing and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter and independent thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and market participants across regions and disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple research priorities and respond quickly to changing market conditions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

We’d love to see:

• Direct experience analyzing or trading GCC, MENA or broader EM currencies.
• Experience with quantitative FX strategies, spot FX modeling and/or FX-options analytics.
• Strong knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal, Bloomberg data and the Bloomberg family of indices.
• Strong Excel and/or Python programming skills.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Economics, Finance or a related quantitative discipline.
