Job Profile Summary
Coordinates, with operations assistance, monitors, and follows up on various blending operations and opportunities at select locations. Effective communication skills are a must in this role. Must be able to communicate effectivity with all levels of employees (up, down, laterally, outside of Operations) and work independently with limited direction from supervision. Must be able influence work without holding a title of Supervisor. Monitors and maintains related equipment to achieve maximum margin capture rates. Responsible for identifying blending opportunities, pre blend analysis, and compliance data entry oversite ensuring regulatory and SIP excellence. Strong analytical, forward thinking, and reactive skills are needed to maximize the results of this role. This is an on-call position and must maintain a close working relationship with QC, GLO, and Commercial Ops team members. Consistent use and/or application of advanced principles/theories/concepts/techniques in area of expertise. Often has unique knowledge in area of specialty plus solid knowledge of other related fields. Organizes, examines and analyzes information to provide resolution to a diverse range of complex problems/issues where analysis requires evaluation of variable factors and solutions often require creativity and a broad knowledge base to provide resolutions. Work is completed without considerable direction and acts independently to determine methods/procedures to obtain results. Generally, only special assignments may be reviewed to ensure objectives have been met. Failure to obtain results or erroneous judgement/recommendations may result in the inability to reach crucial department/organizational goals and may have serious prolonged effects or impacts.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance related QC data entry is correct and develop strong working knowledge of compliance requirements related to blending activity. Excellent tank farm management. In conjunction with blending teams, monitors and forecasts blending per pipeline schedules, inventory levels, rack activity and maintenance schedules to maximize all blending operations. Coordinates with Tulsa blending teams and QC to support final blend plans when opportunities are identified. Work with Operations to execute blending plans by communicating blending expectations within each movement via some type of blend plan, and monitor for executing at the terminal level, assist in tank farm management plan development. Direct locations to climb tanks, pull samples, and run analytics on samples when necessary
- Maintains blending equipment to achieve maximum margin capture rate and performs maintenance as needed. Seeks to ensure 100% equipment performance by ensuring approved targets are continually checked per movement/grade. In the event of mechanical issues or questions, work with SME on leading resolution to topics to support 100% performance of the blending goals.
- Work closely with Tulsa based SMEs (Blending, QC and Compliance) and local operations to achieve maximum blending results by analyzing missed margins, developing blend plan recommendations, coordinating downtime to limit impact to blending and ensuring compliance requirements are met for pre and post blend data.
- Support analysis and inquiries for commercial and engineering projects and assignments as directed
- Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
Final grade and wage will be commensurate with background, skills, and experience.
Education
- H.S. Diploma required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
Work Experience
- At least 3 years' relevant experience preferred
