Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Blaster to join our team on a full-time basis. The Blaster will be responsible for performing blasting operations using various techniques and equipment to prepare surfaces for painting or coating. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare blasting equipment and materials, including abrasive media and blasting machines
- Operate blasting equipment to remove dirt, rust, old paint, and other surface contaminants from various materials and surfaces
- Select and adjust blasting techniques and equipment based on the type of material and surface being blasted
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure proper preparation and identify any defects or imperfections
- Maintain and troubleshoot blasting equipment as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals and deadlines are met
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Blaster in an industrial setting
- Knowledge of different blasting techniques and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface imperfections
- Experience with various blasting media, such as sand, glass beads, and steel grit
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols for handling blasting equipment and materials
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, and have a flexible schedule to accommodate project needs
