Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operates blade to achieve the specified grading.
  • Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
  • Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
  • Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
  • Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
  • Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
  • Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
  • Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understand basics of blade mechanicals.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
  • An unwavering focus on safety.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Texas.

Work Environment | Physical Demands

  • Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
  • Work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
