    • Serve as "remote hands" as needed to assist communications experts located in McMurdo or Denver with maintenance tasks.
    • Replace and manage human waste containers as needed.
  • Visitor and Station Support
    • Ensure smooth operations during visits from staff and distinguished guests by coordinating logistics and maintaining a welcoming environment.
    • Adapt to dynamic operational demands, prioritizing tasks effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Experience in meal planning, preparation, and food inventory management.
  • Strong communication skills for daily reporting and coordination.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and resourcefulness in challenging conditions.
  • Physical fitness and willingness to perform manual labor, such as snow removal and equipment maintenance.

Living and Working Conditions

Black Island is a remote Antarctic facility with extreme weather conditions and limited resources. The position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude toward communal living and work in a demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in remote or austere environments.
  • Experience working in facilities management, domestic support, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Antarctica or similar remote areas.
