Summary: JSL is looking for a bistro team member to join our dining services team. Candidates should have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. They should possess the ability to effectively manage several tasks at once while maintaining a welcoming and friendly attitude. Flexibility and dependability are essential. This position is paid wages and tips are not accepted.
Great Hours! Monday - Friday. 2pm - 6:30 pm. No late evenings or weekends.
You will be an essential part of creating a warm, friendly environment where residents feel valued and cared for. Your energy and dedication will help foster a lively atmosphere that promotes well-being and community connection.
Responsibilities
Bistro setup upon arrival
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bistro area, kitchen, and food service equipment
Assist residents with meal selections, accommodate special dietary needs, and promote positive dining experiences
Follow safety protocols and food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
Engage with residents in a friendly manner, encouraging social interaction during meal times
Operate the POS system- running credit cards, EBT cards, or accepting cash
Closing out the cash drawer at end of shift
Closing the bistro which includes wiping down tables and equipment, closing steam table, vacuuming, and restocking
QualificationsExperience
Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred but not required; training provided for motivated individuals
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, team members, and management
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is a plus
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting senior residents’ well-being
Experience with POS systems is helpful
