QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
As a Birth–Kindergarten OT, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during some of the most important years of a child's development. You'll support children as they develop the skills needed to play, learn, communicate, participate in routines, and become more independent
You'll provide individualized occupational therapy services based on each child's needs and plan of care, including IFSPs and IEPs, as appropriate Your day may include developmental assessments, therapy through play and everyday routines, and support for fine motor development, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, self-care, motor planning, and school readiness.
You'll also collaborate closely with families, teachers, early childhood professionals, and other members of the child's support team to help children reach their developmental goals and participate as fully as possible in their environments.
