We’re looking for a Birth Registrar, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will obtain State required birth registration information for every live birth, along with a variety of routine Health Information Management Department technical processing functions to include front desk coverage, scanning, record keeping, release of information, and filing. Emphasis upon coordination and preparation of birth certificates. You may perform only certain of the following responsibilities depending on their particular work assignment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides mothers with the Mother’s Worksheet for completing the birth certificate.
Runs Epic-generated Birth Report.
Reviews the Epic Birth Report to determine patients admitted for delivery.
Provides mothers with Mother’s Worksheet Form (VS-109.1) for birth certificate completion.
Assists the mother with completion of the Mother’s Worksheet (VS-109.1) as needed.
Completes the Verification of Birth Facts Form (VS-H4 REV 5/05).
Reviews the Verification of Birth Facts Form (VS-H4 REV 5/05) with parents and obtains a signature on the form.
Informs eligible parents of Texas laws and regulations regarding the acknowledgement of
Paternity.
Ensures that Birth Certificates are filed with the State of Texas.
Ensures the completion of the Acknowledgement of Paternity.
Obtains completed ImmTrac (Texas Immunization) Registration Form and Social Security Form from the parent.
Receptionist/Front desk coverage.
Retrieves all medical records needed to complete the ROI request.
Skills & Requirements
2 years' experience in records management, medical records, or birth registry required
AOP CERT - Acknowledgment of Paternity Cert required within 6 months of hire/transfer (Issued by Attorney General of Texas) required
RHIA - Cert-Reg Health Inform. Admins by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) OR RHIT - Cert-Reg Health Inform. TECH by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred
