Job Responsibilities:

  • Operation of experimental technology: Participate in establishing and optimizing the processes in the oligonucleotide synthesis and PCR and to follow SOP for all required production
  • Cultivate the ability to independently solve routine production issues to ensure smooth operations, optimizing processes and offering reasonable suggestions.
  • Handle experiment handovers and exception management, provide analysis for unresolved issues in experiments, propose reasonable improvement plans and report unfinished experiments to superiors for confirmation of analysis, feedback and discussion.
  • Be responsible for 5S execution and optimization involved in the production line, including safety and equipment maintenance of primer synthesis. Maintain 5S practices with complete inspection records.
  • Cooperate and assist with the completion of internal and external department tasks and carry out miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Be responsible for recording all data and results involved in the experimental process in a standardized manner and to ensure the authenticity and traceability of the data.
  • Handover experiments properly, analyze the problems of uncompleted experiments, put forward improvement plans, and report the uncompleted experiments to the supervisor
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as life sciences, biological chemistry etc
  • Some familiarity in the use of various laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in performing PCR assays, thermal cyclers, electrophoresis systems and gel imaging equipment including DNA/RNA extractions, amplification and analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate and precise work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Available to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends
  • Able to understand basic conversational Chinese language
  • Adaptable, responsible and resilient team player with strong work ethics, cost awareness and a proactive innovative mindset
