Within the chapter "Biosample Acquisition & Management" (BAM), the subchapter "Study Management & Sample Data" is responsible, for the sample data of all human samples (biospecimens) provided by BAM for R&D.

Do you have a passion for data and love to create order and structure? As a Biospecimen Data Manager / Data Expert (m/f/d) , you will be responsible for the quality and consistency of sample data in our systems. You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders, develop standards, and optimize processes. You will coordinate first-level support for the LIMS system and assist with system changes and functionality enhancements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the LIMS system within BAM Penzberg and coordinate the Sample Data Team

  • You will represent BAM Penzberg in global meetings and cross-functional initiatives related to sample data and data systems

  • You and other team members will serve as the first point of contact for LIMS users, providing first-level support

  • You will define and prioritize functionality enhancements and coordinate testing within change cycles

  • You will develop and improve processes for data standards, quality, and consistency of sample data across all relevant systems

  • You will formulate and oversee guidelines, procedures, and standards concerning our BAM systems.

Your Profile

  • You hold a degree in biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, or a comparable field. The ideal candidate will have a dual background with degrees in both a scientific discipline and computer science.

  • You look back on 5+ years of relevant professional experience and experience in functional and agile leadership

  • You possess a deep understanding of data models and databases and have a solution-oriented, proactive mindset

  • IT skills, particularly in MS Office and Google Suite, are second nature to you; experience with LIMS systems and programming knowledge is a plus.

  • You have strong interpersonal skills, lead with empathy, and can motivate and support your team while keeping the bigger picture in mind

  • Furthermore, you are fluent in both German and English and can clearly and concisely communicate complex topics
