The Biomedical Site Specialist is a hybrid role supporting smaller or satellite NeoGenomics laboratory locations, where one team member provides both hands-on biomedical equipment support and CMMS coordination. This position performs installation, preventive maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment while also managing Qualer CMMS administration, vendor coordination, work orders, asset tracking, and regulatory documentation. The Biomedical Site Specialist ensures high equipment uptime, accurate asset records, and compliance with all applicable regulatory and quality standards

Core Responsibilities

  • Performpreventativemaintenance,repairs,calibrations,andelectricalsafetycheckson laboratory biomedical equipment according to established schedules and work orders
  • Inspectnewlaboratoryequipmenttoensuresafeinstallationandoperationandoversee Installation,Operation,andPerformanceQualifications(IQ/OQ/PQ)atassignedsite(s)
  • Troubleshootandresolveequipmentissuestominimizedowntimeandmaintainhigh equipment availability
  • Supportlaboratoryprofessionalsinbestequipmentpracticesandprovideoperational guidance to improve biomedical equipment use
  • Maintainaccuratedocumentationofallequipment,maintenance,repairs,andsafety inspections
  • Pursuecontinuingeducationonapplicableequipmentandtestingdevices
  • Maintain all aspects of the Qualer CMMS database for assigned site(s), ensuring accuracyofequipmentrecords,maintenanceschedules,andcompliancedocumentation
  • ProcessworkordersthroughtheQualerticketingsystemandcoordinateandtrack completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
  • Coordinatethird-partyvendorservices,includingschedulingvisits,obtainingquotes, processing purchase orders, and verifying completed work
  • PartnerwithQualityrepresentativestoensureongoing21CFRcompliancewithinQualer
  • Communicatemaintenanceandbuilding-relatedeventstoaffectedpersonnelandkeep Biomed leadership informed of site task progress
  • Identifytrends,unusualactivity,andrecurringissuesandreportfindingstomanagement with recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Supportsmall-scaleimprovementprojectsalignedwithdepartmentgoalsandsite-specific operational needs
  • Completeadditionaltasksand projectsas assigned

Experience, Education and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance within a hospital or laboratory setting required with Prior experience with CMMS systems (Qualer preferred) and vendor management strongly preferred
  • CertifiedBiomedicalEquipmentTechnician(CBET)orCertifiedLaboratoryEquipment Specialist (CLES) certifications preferred
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to execute projects systematicallyandbalancecompetingprioritiesacrosstechnicalandadministrative responsibilities
  • Communicateeffectivelywithstrongwrittenandverbalorganizationalskills
  • UtilizecomprehensiveExcelanddatabasemanagementskills
