  • Serve as a primary HTM technical resource for laboratory diagnostic equipment and systems, particularly equipment used in clinical chemistry and diagnostic laboratory operations.
  • Independently troubleshoot complex equipment failures using test equipment, service documentation, diagnostic software, schematics, error logs, and OEM technical resources.
  • Develop and maintain advanced technical competency on assigned equipment through hands-on experience, OEM training, certification, and continuing technical education.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, upgrades, relocations, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate OEM and third-party service activities and review service reports, repair quality, response times, contract performance, and equipment uptime.

  • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to other HTM technicians to strengthen internal laboratory and medical equipment support capabilities.
  • Support medical-device connectivity and integration, including LIS/EHR/EMR interfaces, middleware, network-connected medical devices, and related healthcare IT infrastructure in collaboration with Information Technology and clinical application teams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting device connectivity, communication, software, network, and interface-related issues within the scope of HTM responsibilities.
  • Support medical-device cybersecurity, software/firmware upgrades, network requirements, and technology integration initiatives.
  • Support critical-care and patient-care equipment as required. Experience maintaining these technologies is preferred.
  • Participate in equipment lifecycle planning, replacement planning, technology assessments, and pre-acquisition technical evaluations.
  • Assist clinical leadership, Laboratory Operations, Procurement, IT, and HTM leadership in evaluating new technologies and equipment acquisitions.
  • Participate in service contract evaluations, renewals, budgeting, and opportunities for service-cost optimization.

  • Maintain complete and accurate equipment and service documentation within the CMMS.
  • Collaborate effectively with Laboratory Operations, clinical departments, Information Technology, Facilities, Procurement, OEMs, and other service providers.

Work Schedule:

The anticipated work schedule is 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM to provide extended HTM operational coverage. The position requires flexibility to adjust working hours and provide extended or after-hours technical support when operationally necessary and as directed by HTM leadership.

The starting annual salary for this position is $86,031 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.
