What’s the Role?

The Biomaterials Production Operator is responsible for processing biomaterials within a production laboratory environment, supporting hydrophilic button manufacturing while ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and production procedures. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality through precise manufacturing processes, equipment operation, inspections, documentation, and adherence to regulated manufacturing practices.

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Follow all applicable manufacturing procedures, quality standards, GMP requirements, and line clearance processes to ensure compliant production operations.

  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), including recording accepted and rejected quantities.

  • Perform visual, manual, and automated inspections to identify defects and verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Support biomaterial processing activities including coating preparation, polymerization, grinding, lathing, sawing, washing, sorting, packaging, and final product preparation.

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform setup activities on manufacturing equipment to maintain process efficiency and product quality.

  • Conduct dimensional measurements and inspections to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards.

  • Complete batch documentation and device history records (DHRs) accurately and ensure production records are ready for quality review and release.

  • Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and process efficiency while escalating quality or process concerns as needed.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces while ensuring equipment and manufacturing areas meet operational standards.

  • Support non-conformance investigations, quality processes, and corrective actions while adhering to established procedures.

  • Train and support production operators to ensure process consistency and training effectiveness.

  • Assist with inventory management activities, material verification in SAP, and production support activities.

  • Collaborate closely with technicians, leads, supervisors, and quality teams to communicate production, quality, and safety concerns.

  • Provide operational support and assist with lead responsibilities when needed.

  • Perform additional duties and cross-functional support activities as assigned.

Do you qualify?

  • Working knowledge and understanding of applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing processes, and supporting documentation practices.

  • Ability to apply sound judgment and use practical problem-solving skills to resolve challenges and follow work instructions effectively.

  • Basic math proficiency including algebra, statistical analysis, standard deviation calculations, and chemical concentration calculations.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety procedures, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to safety policies and regulations.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow procedures and maintain documentation requirements.

  • Ability to work in a production environment that requires regular standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or materials weighing approximately 25 pounds or more as needed.

  • Manual dexterity required for repetitive hand movements, controlled grasping, and fine manipulation tasks.

  • Strong visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to support detailed inspection and manufacturing activities.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00.

  • Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, education, skills, and role scope

  • Eligible for performance bonus or sales commissions
