Job Description

About the role
Burn is looking for a Biomass Warranty Intern to support warranty operations in Somaliland by managing spare parts inventory, coordinating repair station support and training, tracking warranty activities, and ensuring quality service delivery across all service stations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Warranty Services Manager, Field Operations Department, and ERP Department to ensure spare parts received from Kenya are thoroughly inspected, counted, and accurately transferred to the Somali entity.
  • Track inventory through weekly stock takes.
  • Liaise with Warranty Manager and customer service department to ensure all repair stations are adequately restocked with parts.
  • Collaborate with the ERP Department to track warranty parts dispatched to repair stations through ERP systems and Excel tools.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to track the consumption of inventory through service orders across all repair stations.
  • Maintain records of all Somali warranty expenses in liaison with the Finance Department for accurate reporting and reconciliation.
  • Establish and maintain communication with Service Station Technicians to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training on product repair in collaboration with the Engineering Department to service station technicians.
  • Liaise with the Warranty Service Manager, Customer Service Department, and Commercial Department to onboard new service stations.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department to promptly identify, analyze, and communicate any abnormal field failures.
  • Prepare Somali reports and documentation of service station visits and trainings, in coordination with the Operations Department, including product photos and physical samples.
  • Ensure BURN-approved standard operating procedures are properly implemented in collaboration with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department.
  • Liaise with the Warranty Service Manager and Quality Assurance (QA) Department to ensure service stations and all related repair processes meet expected standards.
Skills and Experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and ERP systems is an added advantage.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and service stations.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for service station visits and trainings.
  • Fluency in English and Somali is preferred.
