This is a grant funded position designed to help carry out the goals of funded grant research such as Fish and Wildlife Service and INBRE grants. The successful applicant will help the principal investigator to achieve the grant goals as well as to help train and oversee undergraduate students in the tasks and skills necessary to accomplish those goals. The successful applicant will also generally be familiar with the skills and techniques used in the lab including field research and/or immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology, and familiarity with other data collection systems such as video tracking software. Personnel would not be required to work during curtailment.
Duties/Responsibilities
(10%) Coordinate research with faculty research mentor
(30%) Perform laboratory and/or field research
(30%) Collect, organize, and analyze data
(20%) Write up results for publication or presentation
(10%) Maintain a clean and safe lab environment and keep track of lab supplies and inform faculty mentor of needs
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
BA or BS in relevant scientific field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Facility with excel, statistical packages, PowerPoint, and photoshop
Knowledge of the scientific background of the grants
Compensation Pay Range:
$15.00 hourly
