If you’re ready to elevate your career with a company recognised for its excellence and employee satisfaction, then this could be the opportunity for you.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

At Severn Trent, our Bioresources team plays a vital role in turning waste into value, helping us deliver efficient, sustainable services for our customers. We're looking for a Compliance Technician to join the team and help make sure our operations are safe, compliant and set up for success.

In this role, you'll work closely with operational teams and managers to develop and maintain systems that support Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards across Bioresources. You'll help create clear, practical processes, keep important documentation up to date, and ensure our teams have the tools and guidance they need to meet both internal and external requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys improving the way things work, building strong relationships, and making a real impact across a fast-paced operational environment. You'll work with colleagues across both operational and central teams, acting as a key link between the two and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.

We're looking for someone with strong stakeholder management skills, experience of working with management systems, a genuine passion for Health & Safety, and a proactive approach to finding better ways of doing things.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

In this role, you'll play a key part in helping our Bioresources teams operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. You'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting compliance across Bioresources by monitoring performance, analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintaining and developing management systems, dashboards and reporting tools that help teams track performance and meet key compliance requirements.
  • Coordinating important documentation, action plans and regulatory submissions, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and easy to access.
  • Helping to develop emergency response plans and providing assurance that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are being met across our operational sites.
  • Building strong relationships with operational teams and stakeholders, providing guidance and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with people and finding better ways of doing things. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders, from operational teams through to senior management, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data, dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance and drive improvements.
  • Knowledge of management systems, compliance processes, environmental regulations or operational environments.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • The confidence to build relationships, influence others and bring people together to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Qualifications & Requirements
  • A-Level qualification (or equivalent) in a Science or Maths-related subject, or relevant industry experience.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using a range of business systems and reporting tools.
  • A full UK driving licence, as travel between sites will be required.

About Severn Trent

Water is wonderful. Without it we’d be lost. With it, everything’s possible. For every toothbrush, for every loo flushed. For the hot showers, the cool drinks, the cups of tea. But it’s not just at the heart of our homes. It’s at the heart of everything; our schools, our businesses, our hospitals. Saving lives, helping communities thrive.

We’re Severn Trent, a diverse and amazing group of people who want to keep it that way. We bring you clean water and we take it away safely too. But it’s not just what we do. It’s how we do it: not just talking, but going over and above. Stepping up and rolling our sleeves up.

It’s because we care. Not only about our water but our corner of the country. And we care for our amazing people who make all this possible. Don’t just take our word for it; we’re a Glassdoor Top 50 Company – one of the best employers in the UK right now.

At Severn Trent, we do more, because we care.
