Position Title:BIM Technician

Position Location:Remote - workvirtually fromanywhere in the United States

Salary

TheBIM Technicianwill support theMEP Engineers,BIMManagersand Project Managers with responsibilities tocoordinate across various groups. Thisposition will use Revit MEP, ACC / BIM360and Navisworksforproductionof a variety of projects. The scope of work will involve both small and large-scale mechanical, electrical,plumbingand fire protection projects.

TheBIM Technicianwillrely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Their main point of contact will be their Managerand the Senior Staff they are assigned to either as a Trade Specific Modeler working with Engineers or as a Generalist working with BIM Managers.

TheBIM Technicianwill communicate andoperatein line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

This is theentrypoint position within DLB thatprovidesfutureopportunityfor employeestopursue either Designeror BIM Managementfocused career tracksdepending on employee aptitude, interest and company need.

Essential Functions

Assistin the Production of Revit Documents (80%)

  • Model and annotateRevitMEPdrawings under anEngineer’s andBIM Manager’ssupervision
  • Utilize RevitMEPsoftware tocompletedrawings and visual aids
  • Collect data and other information for construction documents
  • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team

Assistin theGraphics andManagementof RevitModels (15%)

  • Assistthe team in resolving various visibility,dataand graphic issues in Revit.
  • Publish, Package and Consume Models on BIM 360 / ACC.
  • Export CAD,NWCandPDF’sfrom Models
  • Setup Views and Sheets

Reporting (5%)

  • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage personal hours using company tools

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned

Position Requirements (Beginner level for all the following)

  • Interest inengineering design principles and MEP production
  • Awarenessofmodeling and annotatingduct systems, electrical, plumbing and piping layouts and design
  • Skilled in troubleshooting various visibility and graphic issues in Revit
  • Skilled in using RevitMEP
  • Skilled in Administration of BIM 360 / ACC Projects
  • Skilled atand / or willingness to learnusing MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment througheffective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to work with engineers, otherdesignersand drafters as part of a design team
  • Ability to work with engineers to incorporate MEP design into Revit
  • Ability toleverageAI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows,optimizeoperational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
  • Interest in and willingness to learnto understand all parts of engineering contract documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position

Travel / Relocation Requirements

  • Up to10%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
  • Potential relocation opportunities may exist per project needs

Education / Experience

  • Completion of approved Revit / Modeling Certification Process / Schooling or threeyears of experience producingMEPconstruction documents using Revit
