Job Description

This is a hybrid role and we are open to candidates in Chicago, IL. This position will require 1-3 days a week working in a local office. US work authorization is required.

About VIATechnik:

VIATechnik is on a mission to lead the built environment in creating a better future, today. We are one team of over 500 digital experts around the globe. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed architects, engineers, tradespersons, researchers, and business leaders. Together, we empower clients through high-quality, high-velocity experiences that consistently improve outcomes across the design, construction, and operations of buildings and infrastructure. Our clients include Amazon, Mars Wrigley, and National Geographic, the firms shaping the world's most ambitious projects.

Role Overview:

Do you enjoy walking into a project without a clear answer and leaving with a solution the client loves? As BIM Manager at VIATechnik's Studio A100, you'll lead BIM projects across retail, restaurant, multi-site, and capital programs, and become the trusted advisor our clients count on.

This is more than a production role. You'll run your projects end to end, from scope and budget to delivery, own the Revit models, content, templates, and standards behind them, and train both our team and our clients. You'll operate with the independence of a consultant, backed by a global BIM and reality capture team.

We're looking for someone we don't need to tell what to do. You see what needs to happen, bring a plan, and bring new ideas, including AI, before anyone asks. If that sounds like how you already work, keep reading.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Chicago office, with 1 to 3 days per week in the office.

Why This Role is a Career Move

Your First-Year Impact

  • Take full ownership of your projects' scope, budget, and schedule, with 90%+ of milestones delivered on time.
  • Take at least one client challenge that starts without a clear answer or defined scope and lead it to a documented solution, from discovery and options to a recommendation and implementation.
  • Identify, implement, and measure automations or process improvements reduce production or QA time

Apply if you have

  • 5+ years of expert Revit experience, including 3+ years as a BIM Manager or BIM Lead.
  • Expert modeling, drawing, parametric family, and template skills, plus content management and data governance experience.
  • Experience running projects, including scope, budget, work plans, and tracking.
  • Experience training teams and clients in Revit.
  • A consulting mindset, a White Glove approach to client service, and excellent communication.

  • Retail experience and reality capture or scan to BIM experience (preferred, not required).
  • Ability to work from our Chicago office 1 to 3 days per week.
