Job Description

The BIM Manager leads, coordinates, and implements Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across projects and public realm developments, ensuring compliance with organizational, governmental, and Abu Dhabi Municipality standards. The role drives digital delivery from design through handover, enabling effective collaboration, data management, and integration of BIM methodologies across residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Workflows & Compliance

  • Establish and manage BIM workflows aligned with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Review, update, and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and procedures.
  • Oversee development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific documentation.
  • Configure and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) to ensure structured data exchange and document control.
  • Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality BIM requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Validate and monitor 4D and 5D BIM processes to align with project schedules and cost management frameworks.

Model Coordination & Data Management

  • Lead coordination, integration, and maintenance of multidisciplinary BIM models across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage interdisciplinary coordination within master planning and design development stages.
  • Conduct model audits, clash detection, and quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
  • Oversee issue tracking, resolution workflows, and coordination using tools such as Navisworks and Solibri.
  • Manage large-scale BIM datasets and ensure alignment with project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.

Stakeholder Coordination & Collaboration

  • Act as the central BIM point of contact across multiple projects, liaising with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings, including clash resolution, constructability reviews, and design validation sessions.
  • Ensure alignment between design, engineering, construction, and asset management requirements.
  • Support integration of GIS, asset data, and digital twin requirements within BIM environments.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to project teams on BIM tools and coordination workflows.
  • Contribute to sustainability strategies through BIM-enabled analysis and design optimization.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of BIM processes through automation and digital innovation (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper).
  • Support integration of BIM with Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and lifecycle asset management systems.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to track BIM performance, project metrics, and reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement new BIM technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in BIM management across complex, multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Proven experience within client-side, PMC, consultancy, or contractor environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including Design Collaboration and Build modules.
  • Knowledge of BIM validation and model checking tools such as Solibri and BIM Interoperability Tools.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper).
  • Experience in developing Power BI dashboards or similar analytics tools for BIM reporting.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 19650 standards and BIM compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.

Certifications

  • Relevant BIM or digital engineering certifications are preferred, depending on project and organizational requirements.

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 and its practical application.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
