About Bering Straits Native Corporation

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) was formed as a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1972. BSNC became the regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) for the Bering Strait region, which encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. This is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the state. Three distinct Native languages are spoken: St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Central Yup’ik, and Inupiaq.

About this position: Billing Specialist I – Anchorage, AK

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and submit billings to customers by their prospective due dates and the deadlines of the accounting department.
  • Maintain related spreadsheets to track billing.
  • Process daily cash receipts.
  • Maintain saved folders for invoicing and cash receipts.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar software.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in receivables.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to use Government websites.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Preferred

  • Experience with Government contracting pricing proposals.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software Costpoint.
  • Experience working with Wide Area Workflow, Electronic Document Access, and My Invoice.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
