Billing Specialist

Glendale Heights

Hours are M-F 7:30 am-4:30 pm with “On-call rotation required every 7-8 weeks for evening and weekend hours at home”


Starting pay: $24-26/hour based on experience

Hybrid role after in-office training.

Great Lakes Service is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing customer invoices, ensuring billing accuracy, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting internal teams to ensure timely and accurate invoices. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customer, third-party, and manufacturer invoices accurately and on time.
  • Review work orders, service tickets, and support documentation to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries related to invoices.
  • Work closely with service, parts, and administrative teams to gather required billing information.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
  • Research and correct billing errors as needed.
  • Assist with month-end billing activities and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company billing procedures and customer requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or administrative experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Global Edge or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and criminal background screening
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
