Billing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist with strong experience in the shipping and freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, along with a solid understanding of finance operations within logistics.

In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and global stakeholders, ensuring accurate billing, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining high standards of financial control in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage AP vendor invoice processing, including monitoring, ensuring completeness, and handling incoming vendor invoice emails.
• Coordinate with Business Operations (BO) teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and mismatches.
• Monitor SAP interface notifications and exceptions, ensuring timely resolution of extraction failures.
• Manage communication with HQ regarding AP-related queries, vendor concerns, and pending issues.
• Perform SAP posting of vendor invoices with validation for accuracy and compliance.
• Review and process AR extractions, ensuring AR adjustments are aligned with supporting documentation.
• Update payment status in BO systems based on HQ confirmations.
• Perform ad hoc SAP–BO gap analysis and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform reconciliations and double-check accounting entries to identify and resolve discrepancies between systems.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in shipping and freight forwarding finance operations.
• Experience with SAP systems.
• Understanding logistics finance workflows and shipment lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and financial vigilance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, Proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and process gaps.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Written and verbal fluency in English.
• Working Hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (India time).
