POSITION SUMMARY
The Billing Specialist role plays a critical role in our revenue cycle, ensuring accuracy in our client billing and financial reporting through auditing timesheets and draft invoices, invoicing timely, and reconciling revenue by client, location and service line. This role will own the revenue reconciliation and all related reconciliations and analyses as well as other key areas of the revenue cycle, including unbilled revenue/missed revenue opportunities. The role requires a self-starter that can be efficiently and effectively perform a task and self-check for accuracy. This role also directly interacts with our clients and should always balance their best interests with that of the company. Prompt and professional communication and etiquette is required for all client interactions, whether they be via meetings, calls, or emails. This role directly reports to the Billing Manager.
WHAT DOES OUR BILLING SPECALIST DO?
- Directly interactions with clients a high level of professionalism and care is required at all times.
- Daily Invoicing for all product lines, service lines, and locations in accordance with the underling Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and related Schedules.
- Audits timesheets for coding errors and provides immediate feedback to the applicable employee and his or her direct supervisor for all issues discovered.
- Performs root cause analysis for invoicing errors and provides respectful, fact-based, and immediate feedback to individual responsible and his or her immediate feedback, (for process improvement purposes only).
- Perform monthly user and license count true-ups for agreement invoicing. Cross-check agreement counts to ConnectWise contacts and multiple vendor sources. Identify and validate any variances ahead of invoicing.
- Works with appropriate personnel to identify, correct, and audit ConnectWise configuration issues.
- Works with appropriate personnel to identify, develop, and audit other automation opportunities.
- Prepare and analyze various monthly revenue reports and trend analysis by client, location, business team, and product/service line.
- Perform duties and responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner.
- Other feedback as needed for areas of improvement for better efficiency.
- Function as backup as required for other finance team members.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS I NEED TO HAVE?
- 2 year diploma or higher in Accounting or a related field
- 2 - 3 years of professional experience in an accounting or billing role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with NetSuite
- Experience with ConnectWise
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills
WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT LIKE?
- Primarily office‑based with standard working conditions.
- Requires regular sitting, standing, and computer use
- May involve occasional walking, lifting, or carrying equipment when working on‑site
- Regular interaction with internal teams and external clients via phone, email, and meetings
- Occasional travel to Convergence Networks or customer sites may be required
