Responsibilities • Serve as a subject matter expert on one or more of the core departmental functions; use advanced knowledge of business processes and systems to advise customers on the impacts of accounting transactions and to solve complex problems • Handle day-to-day operations of the team, including escalations and workload distribution to ensure service levels are met. • Provide guidance and training to junior members of the team. • Exercise discretion and sound independent judgment when applying knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to solve problems and understand/meet the needs of internal customers. • Investigate and solve complex problems; identify root causes of problems and suggest process improvements. • Identify best practices and suggest improvement ideas to increase efficiency. Deliver a superior level of prompt, knowledgeable, and professional service. • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients at all levels; develop relationships, build rapport, and effectively interact with partners, vendors and internal customers. • Model use of business rules and procedures to ensure high quality results are delivered. • Execute and contribute to the firm’s accounting strategy. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, emphasis in accounting, finance, or a business-related field preferred • Minimum of 3+ years related experience required; experience in accounting preferred, experience in a professional services environment preferred. • Experience with Workday is mandatory. • Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service. Ability to effectively research and understand problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions. • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues. • Executes effectively in a high-volume environment by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress towards goals while maintaining quality standards • Ability to independently handle sensitive situations and exercise good business judgment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint). Beginning to intermediate proficiency in accounting systems.
