Job Description

Job Purpose
The Billing & Inventory Coordinator will support the Medicaid team by monitoring all accounts that are received via automation, ensuring that all information is properly imported into the database. The Billing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for locating and processing all incoming payments from carriers on behalf of our hospital clients along with sending billing reports to each hospital client. The Billing & Inventory Coordinator creates and manages all client and internal reports needed to successfully manage the department's productivity. They will analyze data and create new reports for staff and management as needed. They will work closely with the Firm's IT and Finance Departments to create reports needed to manage the workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process client reports to obtain daily referrals
• Import daily referrals along with other account information into the Firm's database
• Navigate client hospitals’ databases to locate patient’s payment information
• Confirm direct payments and enter updated payment information into the database
• Print monthly reports detailing payments made directly to our client hospitals
• Send monthly billing report to our various client hospitals
• Create reports using Microsoft Excel and various software for analytical and statistical purposes
• Analyze data to help identify trends associated with the accounts, such as payments, denials, and types of accounts received
• Track billing totals
• Review, validate and process confidential information
• Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
• Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Beginner’s Level Experience with SQL
• Strong analytic skills
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
• Detail and process-oriented
• Strong investigatory and researching skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to create complex formulas
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Working Conditions

• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
• Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
• Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
