This role focuses on the timely and accurate entry of electronic invoices while monitoring accounts to ensure all billing is submitted. It also requires understanding customer-specific requirements to proactively identify, document, and resolve issues like missing paperwork or pricing errors that delay payments.
Responsibilities
Retrieval and organization of Bills of Ladings
Billing waste orders
Processing for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) customers
Process and bill warehouse orders
Billing of Direct Ship Orders
End of month accounting processes
Maintenance of open orders
Communication with co-workers to resolve on hold orders
Process backorders and resolve issues with demurrage and inventory
Maintenance of invoice discrepancies
Maintenance/tracking of packaging assets
Generating reports such as open orders, on holds, freight claims etc.
Responding to customer inquiries as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Billing consigned inventory and balancing reconciliations
Skills
Ability to work independently, multitask, and handle deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
Possess exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Ability to think creatively and produce innovative solutions to problems.
Ability to work on call for a 24-hour period during assigned weeks, for order releases on a rotating schedule.
Ability to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
Ability to operate and navigate a computer constantly.
General knowledge of and ability to operate common office equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft applications, such as Word and Outlook.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalent diploma
Minimum of (1) year of experience in EDI billing or accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
