Opportunity

Are you passionate about Insurance accounting and skilled in managing policy payment data with accuracy? If so, Millennium Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join their dynamic team.

Reporting to the Billing Team Lead, the Billing Clerk will play a vital role in maintaining accurate policy payment transactions and supporting the smooth operation of our finance department. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounts receivable experience and the ability to respond effectively to client billing inquiries.

What you will be doing

• Accurately process accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
• Reconcile and maintain receivable subledger accounts.
• Respond to billing inquiries from walk-in and call-in policyholders.
• Receive and record cash and cheques payments, including preparing cheque batches.
• Manage and reconcile bank transactions related to cash and cheques.
• Supporting other Billing Clerks with client calls and inquiries.
• Assist with general clerical and administrative tasks within the accounting team.

What you bring to the team

• Accounting diploma or equivalent experience of one year in a similar role
• Previous experience in the insurance industry is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), databases, and accounting software
• Experience with Sage is considered an asset
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong active listening ability
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment

How you will succeed

In the first year, success in this role will be measured by maintaining a high level of accuracy in policy billing records, consistently meeting transaction processing deadlines, gaining proficiency in Millennium’s in-house insurance systems, improving efficiency through streamlined processes, and reducing billing errors while contributing to overall operational excellence.
