Clearpoint Health, is recruiting for Billing Clerk- Full Time, Finance Head Office, 190 Atwell Dr. Etobicoke Ontario

Job type: Hybrid

The Billing Clerk at Clearpoint Health is responsible for overseeing patient billing, insurance claims, and account management. This role involves ensuring accuracy in invoicing, reconciliation, payment processing, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle billing inquiries quickly and efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Prepare and forward invoices to the appropriate contacts or departments.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding bills, working with internal and external teams to ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare various reports and spreadsheets related to billing and receivables.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure contract specifications are current and procedures are followed.
  • Complete online status reports and work to reduce delinquent payments for assigned accounts.
  • Support daily operations by submitting, updating, and reconciling billing claims and errors using EMRs and proprietary billing software.
  • Manage credit card payment processing, including verification and reconciliation of transactions.
  • Identify and capitalize on billing and revenue opportunities for clients.
  • Liaise with health authorities to resolve client inquiries and billing errors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of government paperwork.
  • Provide feedback to improve service offerings based on client interactions.
  • Verify data input in the accounting system to ensure final bill accuracy.
  • Manage payment reminders, issue invoices and statements, and update accounting records with new payments and balances.
  • Respond to client inquiries related to invoices and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Cross-train with different centers to ensure consistency and reliability in billing practices across the organization.
  • Review billing processes regularly to identify and correct discrepancies and optimize operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years proven experience as a billing clerk or in general accounting is required.
  • Experience in medical billing and working with EMRs. (Desired)
  • Advance level in Microsoft Excel
  • Post-secondary education in business or a health-related field is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service and data entry.
  • Flexibility to work across different time zones.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system is an asset.
  • Resourceful with the ability to learn independently and solve problems.
  • Adaptable, with the ability to quickly apply new knowledge and adjust to changes.
  • French is an asset
