Billing and Revenue Supervisor

Our Customer Service Department is hiring a visionary leader to join our team as a Billing Supervisor. Here, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer service, as well as the timely and accurate billing of approximately three million bills annually for our customers.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing and improving the activities of your team, including overseeing special projects, billing processes, programs, and compliance with policies, rules, regulations, tariffs, etc.
- Hiring, training, coaching, directing, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff; establishing performance requirements and personal development targets; monitoring performance and providing coaching for performance improvement and development
- Overseeing financial and billing auditing control measures and participating in audits
- Overseeing complex billing issues such as billing adjustments and corrections made by researching, analyzing, and identifying consumption inconsistencies and demand information for residential, commercial, and industrial customers
- Conducting analysis and providing feedback regarding billing issues resulting from internal processes
- Formulating strategies for timely and accurate billing, developing and managing policies and procedures, and identifying and implementing continuous improvement measures for billing and billing-related programs
- Working closely with customers to resolve complex customer billing issues.
Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates will offer customer billing experience in the utilities industry and demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Customer service, payment and collections, and other related experience will be considered in place of utility billing experience. A bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Finance, or a closely related field is valued. We are also interested in learning about your knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following:
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Proven leadership with experience in fostering and inspiring team members to achieve results and implement new ideas and concepts to drive efficiencies and lower costs
- An ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, to all levels in the organization and to customers
- Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make sound decisions
- Advanced knowledge of billing functions and controls, rates, metering, rules, and regulations, ideally within the utility industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
