Perform front desk and diverse clerical duties which support the Anne Arundel County Department of Health’s Medical Assistance Eligibility and Enrollment program operations and require the review, verification and interpretation of information in order to make determinations and resolve problems in accordance with policies, regulations and laws of the program.
Minimum requirements include bilingual with the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently, two years of experience performing clerical duties, basic math skills, skills in communicating and responding to visitors and phone inquiries, knowledge of Google Suites (Gmail, Sheets, Google Drive, Calendar, Docs), ability to work independently and with a team, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Notes:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate with two years of experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or state entitlement program, and/or in coordination of care from an accredited college or university may be considered in place of the required education.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Maryland Health Connections and the Medicaid Management Information System. Basic understanding of health insurance plans.
Participation in the County’s group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense.
