JOB TITLE: Bilingual Peer Support Specialist (Spanish/English)

We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Bilingual Peer Support Specialist-Call Center to join our dynamic team. Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full Time

Location: Onsite/New Hanover and Brunswick Counties

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma or higher, combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts. Personal experience as a consumer of mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment, or some equivalent experience preferred. Ability to complete a peer education training program, if needed.

Required Skills: Fluent in both Spanish and English

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Peer Support Specialist provides recovery based supportive services for Coastal Horizons clients to assist them in pursuing and achieving health, wellness, & recovery goals. The Peer Support Specialist will provide support to individuals seeking treatment via a Call Center to streamline individuals into treatment, provide resources, and engage at the onset of treatment services. Must be able to exemplify strong communication skills when answering incoming calls.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASSIFICATION:

  • Promotes consumer engagement with clinicians, psychiatric providers, and primary care providers.
  • Peer Support Specialist must have strong communication skills and ability to coordinate services for new clients.
  • Ability to work independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service skills.
