About the Opportunity
Dayforce is currently seeking a Bilingual (English/French) Payroll Specialist III to join our Dayforce Managed team. We support our clients throughout the complete employee lifecycle, including payroll, workforce management, benefits, and contact center services, allowing them to focus on their core business. The ideal candidate will have significant payroll experience, a strong understanding of benefits, workforce management, and taxation, and the ability to work directly with clients while using sound judgment and critical thinking to resolve complex payroll issues.
What You'll Get to Do
• Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and related activities, are processed, reconciled, audited, and transmitted accurately and on time.
• Process payroll changes, tax forms, payments, and payroll transactions accurately for assigned clients.
• Perform quality control and auditing activities to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal partners to resolve payroll matters and employee inquiries.
• Provide payroll support services in accordance with Dayforce contractual obligations, legislative requirements, and business needs.
• Manage client and employee-related tasks within the case management system, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of tax remittances.
• Apply strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, including garnishments, and interpret, calculate, validate, or process Records of Employment (ROEs) as required.
Skills and Experience We Value
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
• 3+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience within a high-volume payroll environment.
• Experience in payroll outsourcing or payroll consulting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, garnishments, taxation, and applicable legislative requirements.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and service commitments.
• Understanding of service level agreements (SLAs) and payroll delivery expectations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Experience managing complex customer requirements.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for deliverables and projects from initiation through completion.
• Desire to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Flexibility to support business needs, including occasional weekend or public holiday work.
• Availability to work operational hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
What Would Make You Stand Out
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or willingness to obtain certification within two years of employment.
• Experience processing payroll for multiple clients.
• Experience processing payroll for organizations with 2,000+ employees.
• End-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Experience with Dayforce HCM or similar cloud payroll technology.
• Strong knowledge of quality control and payroll auditing practices.
• Multinational payroll experience (Canada/U.S.).
• Associate degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
