Job Description

Compensation

  • Approximately $25.00 per hour
  • Equivalent to approximately $52,000 annually at full-time hours
  • Paid by direct deposit
  • Paid biweekly on Fridays

Schedule

This position is intentionally structured to begin part-time and eventually grow into a full-time position.

  • Initial schedule expected to be approximately 2–3 days per week
  • Monday through Thursday: 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am–4:30pm
  • Office-only position
  • Remote work is not available

Severance, Burko, Spalter, Masone & Laurette PC is hiring a bilingual Social Security Disability Administrative Assistant for its downtown Brooklyn office.

This is a structured administrative support role inside a busy legal office focused on Social Security Disability and workers’ compensation matters.

The position begins with foundational administrative responsibilities while learning the firm’s office systems, database workflows, document organization, and client procedures.

We are looking for someone dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable handling repetitive administrative work with consistency and accuracy.

This role is ideal for someone seeking stable long-term office experience inside a professional legal environment with the opportunity to eventually grow into a full-time position.

Training will be provided for office procedures, forms, database systems, and internal workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Process and organize incoming mail
  • Scan, upload, and organize documents
  • Learn and update the firm’s internal database system
  • Support repetitive administrative and client-related workflows accurately and consistently
  • Send and manage emails through Outlook
  • Organize and track client files and records
  • Maintain organized documentation and office systems
  • Support scheduling and general office coordination
  • Assist with daily administrative office tasks

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of office or administrative experience preferred
  • Comfortable learning database systems and office technology
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
  • Basic typing and professional writing skills
  • Comfortable with repetitive task-oriented work
  • Strong organizational and tracking skills
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Dependable and professional work habits
  • Stable work history preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Skills

  • Conversational Spanish preferred
  • Light Adobe experience helpful
  • Experience scanning and organizing documents
