Organizational context

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea is inviting applications for the position of Business Intelligence and Digital Transformation for the private sector fundraising internship program in line with the long-term growth plan of the private sector fundraising program.

This internship is a learning opportunity to gain knowledge and practical experience related to data management and analysis tasks and future work in a field related to UNHCR's mission.

By being directly exposed to the work of the Organization, interns will have the chance to develop their skills and aptitudes.

The position

The intern will support the Business Intelligence and Digital Transformation (BIDT) unit within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) team in data processing, system and operational documentation management, and general administrative tasks. The internship will provide practical exposure to fundraising operations, data management, and digital transformation

activities within UNHCR Korea.

Duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Intern will depend on operational priorities during the internship period and may include:

Business Intelligence (BI) Support

• Support data processing, validation, and reporting activities related to fundraising operations
• Support quality checks and data validation for reports, dashboards, and related

systems

• Assist in maintaining operational documentation, user guides, and knowledge

repositories

Digital Transformation (DT) Support

• Assist in maintaining and updating operational documentation, including user

manuals, standard operating procedures, and system change records

• Assist in organizing information related to BIDT systems, projects, and service

providers (e.g., roles, contacts, contract/RFQ materials, and incident records)

• Assist with basic testing of system changes and new features, and support the

documentation of related issues and improvement requests

• Assist in preparing background materials for system reviews and improvements, and support documentation related to data protection and information security

General Administrative Support

• Support administrative and coordination tasks related to BIDT operations
• Perform other duties relevant to the position as requested by the supervisor

Note: Given that BIDT systems and projects involve multiple internal and external stakeholders, the intern's role will focus on organizing and maintaining operational information rather than directly operating the systems.

Minimum qualifications required

In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of

applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and

• Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in information systems, computer science, statistics, business administration, economics, data analytics, or other related fields.

Desirable qualifications and skills

• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to write and understand basic SQL queries
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in Korean and English
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools is an advantage
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) is an advantage
• Interest in data management, reporting, and digital transformation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data
• Good organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to handle internal and external information carefully and confidentially

Conditions

It is a full/part-time role with working hours starting from 9.00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in location / home-based.

Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
