Level: High School or GED
Travel Percentage: Negligible
Job Shift: Full TimeUnder the direction of the Manager Bids, Customer Support and Product Offering, this position is responsible for all bid business and for supervising the personnel involved in the processing of such bids and quotes.
- Responsible to ensure that all bids are processed and completed accurately and timely, logged in the bid system daily and followed up as needed,  while monitoring all bids for GP to maximize profitability.
- Develop and maintain top bid accounts, co-ops, and handle all State contracts.
- Manage and create reports for tracking of bidding activity, awarded tabulations and trends.
- Interface with all departments to ensure capitalization on bidding opportunities. Run meetings with the team responsible for feedback on Book bids.
- Maintain membership with bid sources and ensure that weekly internet searches are performed.
- Strive to constantly increase product knowledge and pricing as well as familiarity with competitor products and pricing.  Attend new product training when available.
- Provide supervision to team of bid correspondents  and specialists with a positive attitude, motivating them in the performance of their duties and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, delegating, assigning and directing work; administering company time and attendance policies, monitoring and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Attend new product training when available.

Qualifications
- High school education and/or GED equivalent; two years Supervisory experience.
- Ability to work with numbers with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and follow-through on mulitiple tasks with demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to deal with customers, suppliers and others to negotiate and solve problems.
- PC proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Internet..
- Normal office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs. frequently.  Standing and walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
