The Bid Manager role is a crucial component of the business proposal response process. The Bid Manager manages the creation of winning quality proposal responses for Lexmark's large account and enterprise customers by utilizing corporate information databases and sales support personnel. The Bid Manager also supports other proposal development activities by interfacing with sales leads in need of customized marketing materials.
*Must be willing to work nights. Rest days: Saturdays and Sundays.

What You Will Do:
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), or other proposal-related projects to understand and note project goals, customer requirements, preparation and submission instructions, qualitative questionnaire(s), forms and appendices/addenda, and communicate findings and observations with the sales teams
  • Initiate the creation of a proposal project plan and coordinate with sales leads on the development of response timelines; identify the key members required to respond to a client proposal
  • Maintain master document, solicit material from sales team, and send drafts out to the sales team from time to time until completion (managing version control)
  • Work with North America (NA) and Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) sales and operational teams to develop individualized plans for executing Lexmark services for clients; coordinate with Subject Matter Experts from other internal organizations such as Legal, Research & Development, Marketing, Human Resources, etc. to gather information required for proposal responses
  • Facilitate internal proposal reviews and ensure submitted proposals are compliant with corporate directives, and drive the internal approval process prior to submission
  • Demonstrate high competency in copyediting and proofreading proposals to eliminate typos, grammatical errors and formatting issues before submission to the client
  • Create and format the final version of the RFP response in accordance with client instructions
  • Endorse trending client requirements and new information in support of content development
  • Work on ad hoc post-RFP requests as needed

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Willing to work night shift to support US and/or CAN business hours
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; preferably in Business, Communication or Journalism
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong English communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Experience in copy editing and technical/business writing is preferred
  • Some experience in layout/art direction is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Internet savvy, with effective research skills
  • Excellent time management, coordination, and communication skills
  • Very keen eye for detail; must be proactive, resourceful, and possess a very strong sense of ownership of assigned projects and the entire proposal process
  • Ability to quickly develop a thorough knowledge of Lexmark's offerings and capabilities and guide sales teams in both strategic and tactical conversations regarding the preparation of business proposals
