Job Description

The BI Support Lead is responsible for overseeing Cavender’s Business Intelligence reporting ecosystem to ensure stability, accuracy, and high-quality service delivery across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Retail Data & Digital Architecture, this role serves as the operational lead for BI production support and reporting reliability. This position partners closely with IT and cross-functional business teams to maintain, enhance, and optimize reporting solutions across modern data platforms including Snowflake, Sigma, Power BI, Matillion, HVR, and Fivetran. The BI Support Lead ensures data integrity, timely issue resolution, metric governance, and continuous improvement of reporting operations to support business-critical decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive the Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Serve as the primary lead for BI production support and reporting operations.
  • Manage and prioritize BI support requests, incidents, and enhancements.
  • Ensure timely resolution of reporting, dashboard, and data-related issues.
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to support and enhance reporting metrics.
  • Monitor data pipelines and reporting environments to ensure availability and performance.
  • Conduct regular data validation and cross-system checks to maintain data integrity.
  • Lead root cause analysis for data discrepancies and system issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for reporting processes, data definitions, and governance standards.
  • Support and maintain data models, dashboards, and automated reporting routines.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries and BI tool logic for troubleshooting and enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve system performance and reporting efficiency.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding issue status, impact, and resolution timelines.
  • Identify automation opportunities and operational improvements within BI support processes.
  • Mentor junior BI analysts or support team members as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive business information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a BI reporting, analytics, or production support environment.
  • Experience supporting BI platforms such as Power BI, Sigma, and Snowflake.
  • Strong SQL skills with proven experience troubleshooting complex data issues.
  • Experience with data transformation and integration tools such as Matillion, HVR, or Fivetran preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Must be based in Tyler, TX or willing to relocate to East Texas.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading BI support or analytics teams.
  • Experience implementing BI governance and support frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Strategic mindset with strong operational execution skills.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership capabilities.
