Job Description

How you'll make impact
At Opensignal, we build customer-facing telecom data products used by operators and industry leaders worldwide. A critical part of those products is how data is presented — clearly, interactively, and reliably.

We’re looking for a BI Platform Specialist to build and maintain customer-facing dashboards using our custom BI platform.
This is not a data analyst role.
This is not a backend engineering role.

You will translate product requirements into production-ready, interactive dashboards that directly support revenue-impacting telecom products.

Over time, you will become a Subject Matter Expert in Opensignal’s BI platform, supporting teams across multiple telecom product lines and ensuring high-quality, stable visual deliverables.

What you will do

  • Design and build interactive, customer-facing dashboard templates in Opensignal’s custom BI tool
  • Translate product requirements into scalable visualization logic
  • Ensure production stability and quality of delivered dashboards
  • Review and audit dashboards created by other teams before release
  • Act as the go-to expert for the BI platform across the company
  • Support colleagues in using the platform effectively
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and governance standards
  • Use AI tools to accelerate SQL development, template creation, and JS logic

You will work across multiple telecom product groups and collaborate with colleagues in different time zones (including occasional late-hour calls with North America).

What this role is about

  • Becoming an expert in Opensignal’s BI platform
  • Owning the quality and stability of customer-facing dashboards
  • Turning complex telecom data into clear, structured visual products
  • Enabling teams to deliver better data experiences
  • Working confidently in a cross-functional environment

This role requires visibility and confidence.
We’re looking for someone communicative, proactive, and comfortable being the go-to person for the platform.

What we’re looking for

Must-have:

  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL, including advanced usage (joins, CTEs, window functions)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and building dashboards in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) — from a creator/author perspective, not just as a viewer or end user
  • Experience optimizing queries and understanding performance trade-offs
  • Clear communication skills in English
  • Ownership mindset and strong prioritization skills
  • Practical experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving

Nice to have:

  • Experience with BigQuery or Redshift
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or Grafana
  • Exposure to telecom data
  • Basic JavaScript understanding

How success is measured

  • Delivery of stable, production-ready dashboards
  • High quality and consistency of customer-facing visual products
  • Strong internal trust in your platform expertise
  • Clear documentation and governance standards

Growth opportunities
As the platform continues to scale across products and customers, this role can expand into broader platform-focused responsibilities, including:

  • Defining visualization standards and scalable template architecture
  • Strengthening governance, review processes, and production readiness criteria
  • Taking ownership of deployment quality and dashboard lifecycle management
  • Monitoring platform usage, analyzing user behavior, and identifying adoption patterns
  • Working with logs and operational data to improve stability and reliability of delivered dashboards
  • Increasing responsibility for cross-product dashboard consistency and performance standards
  • Contributing to platform-level quality assurance and release validation
  • Expanding into wider data or platform-oriented roles within the company

The BI platform sits at the center of multiple telecom products, creating long-term opportunities to deepen technical expertise, strengthen production ownership, and broaden impact across the organization.

Working environment

  • You’ll work in a friendly, open, and communicative environment.
  • We care about priorities and outcomes — not bureaucracy.
  • You won’t be micromanaged.
  • We’re looking for positive, helpful, cool people who enjoy building things and enabling others.
