Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday - 10:00 am - 6:30 pm
- Every Other Saturday - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
*Holiday Rotation As Needed*

Responsible to provide accurate medical interpretation and translation services to Non-English speakers. The Medical Interpreter helps patients communicate with medical staff, providers, nurses and other health care providers.
Responsibilities Include but not limited too:
- Assists Health Center staff in meeting the needs of non-English speaking patients by providing interpretation between health care providers and the patients.
- Provides for the translation of material published by the Health Center for use by the patient population.
- Contact non-English speaking patients upon request by Clinical Team to inform them of results, appointments, diagnosis, instructions, and explain certain procedures pertaining to their medical treatment plan.
- Performs other miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Who We're Looking For Someone that is:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Willing to obtain second medical interpreter certification within one year of employment.
- Hardworking and an Enthusiastic Team Player.
- Motivated and Passionate about helping a diverse and underserved population in the community.
- Tactful, pleasant and friendly approach in dealing with patients, staff, guests and individuals in the community.
- Capable of precisely and accurately interpreting medical information given by the provider into equivalent terminology in the patient’s native language.
- Good verbal and organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient issues.

What You Will Need:
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Fluency and written competency in Spanish required to interpret/translate for patients and employees.
- Current knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and customer service orientation.
- Listening skills and capability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to interact and communicate with people in person and over the phone often in stressful situations using the best sound judgement.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours as needed.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Required Education& Other Credentials
- Education: High school diploma or GED. One year of business school or equivalent
- License/Certification: Certified Medical Translator Certificate in Spanish Required.

Experience: Two (2) years experience in translating or four years college level language course(s) may be substituted for experience
- Software/Hardware: proficient with MS Office, experience with EPIC software (EPIC, eCW).
