The Business Intelligence Developer will play a pivotal role in CAI’s internal technology team. Partnering across the enterprise, this role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytical views that enable data-driven decision making across CAI’s business units.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Developer (Databricks) to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, remote, and is a salaried position.

This is a remote position with the requirement to work East Coast hours.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and analytical views in Power BI that support business decision making across CAI’s functional areas

  • Build and optimize SQL queries and data views within the Databricks Lakehouse platform to support downstream reporting and analytics use cases

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data models, medallion architecture patterns (bronze/silver/gold layers), and available data assets for reporting purposes

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define key metrics, and translate business needs into clear, actionable visualizations

  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports and dashboards prior to stakeholder delivery

  • Maintain and enhance existing reports and dashboards based on evolving business requirements, user feedback, and platform updates

  • Contribute to the development of standardized reporting templates, naming conventions, and best practices across the BI environment

  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and team knowledge-sharing sessions to support continuous improvement within the Data & Analytics team

  • Document report definitions, data sources, business logic, and technical decisions to maintain institutional knowledge and support team collaboration

  • Support end-user adoption by providing training guidance and responding to ad hoc reporting requests as needed

What You'll Need

Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in business intelligence development, data analytics, or a related reporting-focused role

  • Hands-on experience designing and developing reports and dashboards in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX measures, and interactive visualizations

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data from relational and cloud-based data platforms

  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts including dimensional modeling, star schemas, and ETL/ELT data flow patterns

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data accuracy and troubleshoot reporting issues

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to define and deliver reporting solutions

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Desired

  • Experience working with Databricks, including notebooks, Delta Lake, and SQL analytics endpoints

  • Familiarity with medallion architecture patterns (bronze/silver/gold) and Lakehouse design principles

  • Experience with Power BI service administration, workspace management, and scheduled refresh configuration

  • Exposure to Python for data analysis or automation tasks

  • Background in staffing, professional services, or SLED-focused organizations

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or relevant Databricks certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
