Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing data and analytics team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that enable business users to monitor performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report development, dashboard optimization, report migration, and publishing solutions through Power BI Service. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, data engineers, and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable, intuitive, and actionable BI solutions.

This position plays an important role in supporting insurance domain reporting and analytics use cases, where business understanding, data accuracy, metric consistency, and stakeholder communication are critical. Exposure to other BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, or similar platforms will be considered an added advantage.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models to support business reporting and decision-making needs.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, translate reporting needs into technical specifications, and deliver user-friendly BI solutions.
  • Develop efficient data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and reusable reporting components while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and performance.
  • Validate data, reconcile report outputs, troubleshoot reporting issues, and support ongoing enhancements based on business feedback.
  • Support migration of legacy reports and dashboards to Power BI by assessing existing reports, mapping business logic, rebuilding visuals, validating outputs, and ensuring continuity of reporting functionality.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure reliable data availability from source systems, data marts, warehouses, and curated datasets.
  • Follow Agile delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, status updates, demos, and documentation of BI deliverables.
  • 4–7 years of industry experience as a Business Intelligence Developer, BI Analyst, Reporting Developer, or similar role, with primary hands-on experience in Power BI.
  • 2–3 years of core insurance domain experience, preferably across claims, policy, underwriting, billing, reinsurance, or related insurance reporting areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report publishing, workspace management, and dashboard performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in migrating reports from legacy BI platforms or existing reporting environments to Power BI, including requirement analysis, report rationalization, data mapping, redevelopment, testing, and user validation.
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational data concepts, with the ability to query, validate, and interpret data from databases, data marts, warehouses, or curated datasets.
  • Experience in defining business metrics, KPIs, report layouts, drill-through views, filters, and visual storytelling approaches for executive and operational reporting.
  • Exposure to data visualization best practices, report usability, access management, row-level security, and dashboard governance.
  • Knowledge of other BI or visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, Looker, or similar platforms will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or analytics ecosystems such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or SQL Server will be preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in Agile teams and under tight deadlines.
