Job Responsibilities

40% Data Analysis & Interpretation Understand, interpret, and analyze the data used by multiple business lines using statistical methods. Develop, edit, and monitor data quality control reports to provide clear and quality of the data in use. Assist in development of data architectural design, data collection systems and data analytics to improve upon efficiency, transparency and quality of data. Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Provide database function recommendations and solutions to improve data through processes such as ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) and other data cleansing projects. Review new process data improvements and present to management. Collaborate with Sales Analysts to validate assumptions, calculations, and metric definitions used in analytical models. Ensure analytical outputs are supported by consistent dimensional models and shared definitions.

30% BI Platform Optimization, Quality, & Governance Build and manage the performance and quality of data sets and data flows in Power BI for all Power BI reporting. Manage the review of developed reports by business line analysts and approve for production ensuring governance of Report inventory. Assist with the documentation of information value chain process flows and analyze for improvements to efficiency. Document and maintain details of meta data for multiple business functions. Provide issue management and remediation support to business lines. Collaborate with management to ensure process flows and prioritization is followed per documented requirements. Provide support to business line subject matter experts on data questions and permissions.

20% Communication & Execution Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in the business to understand their data requirements. Use this information to inform data quality monitoring. Articulate clearly and concisely to business lines on the quality results. Prepare reports for executive leadership to effectively communicate relevant trends and patterns that may be used to predict and inform management of actions. Ensure appropriate estimates for time to complete data efforts for monthly sprints and deliver timely.

10% Project Contribution Contribute to data projects designed to progress efficiencies within the Club. Provide business line management data on relevant project components.

Job Specific Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science related field required
    • Relevant certifications, internships, or demonstrated project experience in data analytics may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-6+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence or a related field.
    • Candidates with less experience but strong academic training, internships, or demonstrable project work in data analytics may also be considered.
    • Equivalent education and hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of formal experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Understanding of data structures and analytical thinking including meta data concepts, data models, database design development, data mining techniques and relational databases
  • Demonstrated use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for the purpose of data cleansing, analytics or reporting
  • Must be able to work independently

Preferred:

  • Experience with Python, Databricks, Azure Data Factory
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and/or ETL processes

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform routine office tasks that includes operating a computer for long periods of time, sitting, filing and communicating on the phone
  • Ability to perform all physical functions consistent with travel including sitting in airplanes and driving for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull a maximum of 30 lbs

Starting pay range: $79,351 - $93,355

Must reside in Buffalo, New York or surrounding areas.
