The role plays a key part in shaping the BI roadmap, managing the BI backlog, validating requirements, and supporting adoption, while ensuring alignment with data governance standards and the overall BI delivery model.

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Business Requirements & BI Analysis

BI Delivery & Collaboration

  • Act as a core member of the BI Delivery squad, participating in sprint planning, refinement, demos and retrospectives.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Own and manage the BI demand backlog, supporting prioritization in alignment with business value.

Reporting & Validation

  • Build and maintain semantic models, including measures (DAX), relationships, and data structures.
  • Perform functional testing and validation to ensure accuracy, usability, and business alignment.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and support rollout and adoption.

Data Governance & Adoption

  • Support data governance initiatives by documenting KPIs, definitions, and reporting standards.
  • Promote consistent use of certified datasets and semantic models.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Power BI, including report development, DAX, and data visualization best practices, with Power BI certifications (e.g., PL-300) considered a plus.
  • Understanding of semantic models, data modelling concepts, and BI best practices (star schema, fact/dimension).
  • Ability to define and validate KPIs, metrics, and business rules.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or modern cloud data platforms.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
