Our Silver Ridge team in Mills River, NC is seeking two compassionate, dependable, and motivated Lead Behavioral Health Technicians (Lead BHTs) to join our residential treatment program. We currently have one full-time 1st Shift position and one full-time 2nd Shift position available.

As a Lead BHT, you will provide direct client care while serving as a leader and resource for Behavioral Health Technicians on your assigned shift. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others, leading by example, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals working toward recovery.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, support, and guidance to clients in a residential behavioral health treatment setting.
  • Lead and assist Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure completion of shift responsibilities and communicate important client updates during shift transitions.
  • Support daily operations and assist with staffing needs as required.
  • Complete admissions and intake procedures for new clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client documentation.
  • Observe and document client self-administration of medications.
  • Coordinate client activities and support treatment programming.
  • Assist clients in meeting individualized treatment goals and recovery needs.
  • Provide transportation for appointments, meetings, and approved activities.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral, emotional, and crisis situations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist with meals, daily living activities, and other program needs as assigned.
  • Complete all required company, state, and accreditation-related trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive role model and leader for the Behavioral Health Technician team.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff during assigned shifts.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings.

Preferred

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, or healthcare.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of behavioral health treatment practices and recovery-oriented care.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and remain active throughout the shift.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergency or crisis situations.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Work Environment

This position is located within a residential treatment facility and may involve exposure to behavioral health challenges, crisis situations, infectious illnesses, and emotionally demanding circumstances. The available openings are one 1st Shift position and one 2nd Shift position, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed to support program operations.
