Job Description

Responsible for the training, supervision, and direction of Beverage staff to achieve customer satisfaction and quality services while meeting/exceeding financial goals.

  • Individual must be a self-starter and finisher on assigned and independent projects.
  • Daily monitoring of budgets & labor controls.
  • Daily direction of Beverage team to achieve financial and service goals.
  • Proactively investigate opportunities to improve service levels and departmental performance.
  • Insure the Beverage operation’s compliance with Scioto Downs policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), health and safety regulations including OSHA.
  • Conduct ongoing training of existing F&B employees and the training of new employees.
  • Beverage Supervisor will work closely with and under the direction of the Beverage Manager/Asst Mgr to ensure proper communication between Beverage department and others.
  • Will possess the ability to communicate both verbally and through written documents to staff, managers and executive management.
  • Will have the ability to recognize operational needs and analyze and facilitate the changes required in a fast paced high volume environment.
  • Responsible for supervising bartenders, bar backs, and beverage servers.
  • Monitor Team members’ performance and deliver commendations and constructive critiques.
  • Interviewing and hiring.
  • Scheduling and finding replacements for call-off
  • Maintaining attendance records.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Will have two years’ experience in Beverage field.
  • Must be available to work long hours and varied shifts as business requires.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point) MICROS or similar POS System.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and possess good analytical skills to respond well to any problems that may arise.
  • Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods. May be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment.
  • Must be at least 21. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing. Must be able to pass a background investigation. Subject to pre-employment drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
  • Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
  • Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period

Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment
