Location We are seeking an experienced Beverage Manager for the New Orleans Convention Center located in New Orleans, LA.

Unit Description:

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is located in Downtown New Orleans, Louisiana. With 1.1 million square feet of prime, contiguous exhibit space, the award winning New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is the sixth largest convention facility in the nation, and it consistently ranks in the country's top ten of facilities that hold the most conventions and tradeshows annually.

The Beverage Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of beverage operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue, and maintaining operational excellence. This position is responsible for managing the beverage program across multiple event types and service outlets, including banquets, concessions, catering, and premium hospitality spaces. The Beverage Manager ensures consistent quality and service standards, develops innovative beverage offerings, and maintains compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations. In addition, this role oversees beverage inventory, cost controls, vendor partnerships, and staff training to ensure efficient operations and profitability. The Beverage Manager collaborates closely with culinary, catering, and event operations teams to design and execute beverage service strategies that elevate the guest experience and align with client expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage daily beverage services across various event spaces, including bars and banquet areas.
• Recruit, train, and supervise beverage service staff, including bartenders and servers.
• Monitor and manage beverage costs, including portion control and inventory levels, to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
• Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and gather feedback to improve service quality.
• Collaborate with event planners and other departments to ensure beverage services align with event requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications/Skills

• 2+ years of experience in food service management or beverage management.
• Experience in a large-scale venue or convention center setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service.
• May require long hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, depending on event schedules

Other Requirements

• Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
• Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
