Laundry Attendant

professionals
are responsible for ensuring all linens, towels, and other textiles are
cleaned, organized, and presented to our guests with the excellent

Laundry Attendants

are vital to maintaining our

Job Responsibilities:


  • Strip
    linens from vacated rooms and transport dirty linens to the laundry room.
    Transport clean linens to housekeeper carts and linen storage areas. Wash, dry,
    fold, and stock all linens and terry items.

  • Visually
    inspects all soiled linens and spot treats stains before washing. Visually
    inspects all washed linens to verify stains are gone. Visually inspect linens
    after drying to assess condition before stocking on shelves. Folds and stocks
    linens in accordance with company established guidelines.

  • Safely and
    effectively operates all machines in the laundry room, including, without
    limitation, the following: (a) commercial washers and dryers; (b) commercial
    dishwasher; (c) chemical dispensing machines; and (d) linen folding machine.

  • Keep all
    floors clean and free of debris and liquids, including, without limitation,
    sweeping, mopping, and manual pick-up of trash.

  • Clean lint
    filters in dryers. Empty garbage cans and dispose of in proper dumpsters. Empty
    recycle cans and dispose of in proper recycle receptacles in dumpster area.

  • Restock
    housekeeper carts with clean linens and other items needed.

  • Maintain
    the laundry and storage areas in a clean, safe, presentable condition,
    including, without limitation, wiping down machines, counters, and dusting.

  • Report any
    unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.

  • Maintain a
    friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.

  • Maintain
    customers’ privacy.

  • Maintain a
    high level of professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Must be dependable and on time.

  • Treat all
    coworkers with respect.

  • Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel
    standards and Federal, State and Local laws, including OSHA regulations.

  • Use appropriate protective equipment when working with soiled linens
    and possesses the ability to learn the procedures for processing isolation
    linens.

  • Follow
    proper procedures in handling hazardous substances.

  • Perform
    housekeeping duties, when required.

  • Perform
    other duties as assigned.


Successful Candidates Must Have:


  • Fourteen years of age and older -- Fourteen
    through seventeen years of age will have a modified job description provided by
    Management.

  • Basic knowledge of
    general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of
    standard cleaning equipment.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and effectively
    communicate to the
    Housekeeping Supervisor

    ,
    management, peers, and hotel guests.

  • Ability to
    communicate with guests, staff, and the public in a professional and hospitable
    manner.

  • Self-motivated and ability to work and properly
    perform job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and/or in
    stressful situations.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability and willingness to take direction and
    supervision from Housekeeping Supervisor, management, and/or other lead
    employees regarding job duties and task assignments.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to
    carry out
    detailed

    written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems effectively and
    efficiently.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long or irregular
    hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to learn and perform security, safety, emergency, and accident
    prevention policies and procedures.

  • Able to
    remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
    Sitting, standing, walking, reaching,
    twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, and squatting in the performance of daily
    activities.
    Grasping and repetitive hand
    movement.

  • Ability to
    express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral
    information to management, peers, and hotel guests.
    Communicate instructions to others
    accurately, loudly, and/or quickly.

  • Work
    involves perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
    Work also involves having clarity of vision
    at various distances.

  • Ability to move items weighing 30 pounds or more.
    Ascend/descend stairs and ramps.
    Work also consists of moving throughout the
    hotel property.

  • Ability to exert up
    to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently
    or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Ability to work nights & some weekends.
